Events!

Just an update:

  • The next fine arts PD is on October 7.
  • TUSD Choir Festival will be held at Sabino High on October 22
  • Still waiting for all choir directors to forward to me (thomas.levario@tusd.org) their gmail address...
  • This is a plug for some kind of workshop to address the differences in stage (musical) singing and choir singing.  Different requirements and especially to address "To Belt or Not to Belt. Many trains of thought on this and I would like to know ideas, issues (besides nodes), techniques...
  • IF YOUR PROGRAM HAS A WEBSITE, PLEASE LET ME KNOW AND I WILL POST IT TO THE RIGHT.
  • Finally, I wanted to place the link of the straw tid bit of info. that Jen shared with us at the last PD.  Jen, could you comment below with the YouTube link?

WE ARE...not quite private yet.

Well, it turns out that all members of this private group must have a google account (gmail.)  If you do not already have one, it is easy to do.  Click "here" to create your gmail account.  As soon as everyone within our group has a gmail account, I would need the email address to set up the privacy list. After the blog is set up as private, one would need to sign in.  If you already have a gmail (most likely you do if you have an android phone...) you do not need to create another one...unless you want to...As far as I know, everyone should still be able to get notifications at their TUSD address of any new post.  Stay tuned, this post will be updated!

On another note...

The Rincon University Choir Dept. is hosting a show with "The Edwards Twins!"

Check out the RUHS website (http://ruhschoir.weebly.com/fundraising.html) for details...

Welcome!

Hello everyone!  After our summer workshop, I felt that another way that we could communicate with each other would be to create a blog.  I thought about some of the many blog sites and also ways to make this appealing to our students (like using "tumblr") but the reality is that we could use a place where we can post news, ideas and questions to each other.  It does not need to be for the students to use (but it also should not matter). It also occurred to me that I really do not know all of you very well, even though I have been around for a while :-).   I think that this may help.

Finally, I would like to share in the administrative responsibilities of this blog, it does not have to be me that pictures and/or music are sent to to create posts.  Please let me know if you are interested! (thomas.levario@tusd1.org)  I have contacted technology from the district and their only concern is of hosting videos.  They do not want to deal with the size of those files.  Fortunately, blogspot deals with that and you can upload videos to their servers to be shown on here.  I know that time is very precious and finding it to post items may be difficult, but with a few others helping to administrate, we can maybe divide up the task and make up specific dates that the blog could be updated.  I set up links on the side bar for helpful downloads and can create more if there are ideas from you!  If there is a prevailing question or discussion topic however, you can comment on it at ANY time!  We only need to go to the blog to see what the comments are and maybe respond.  The only caveats are: using your phones to post comments is not always successful and can be frustrating, comments may take a little time to post so this would probably not be the answer to "real time" conferencing (BTW, I have some ideas on that, will share on a later post),  BUT it can be documentation of how we are creatively working as a "PLC."

Think about this blog idea and let me know if it could be helpful to you!
